Medallion Card

I love this card. The medallion stamp is one of the most versatile stamps that Stampin' Up! uses. This creative card was created by Kim and was her shoebox card that those who wanted to make her card could. The colors are Cherry Cobbler and chocolate chip paper. The brad goes really good w/this card. This card was very easy to make but looks very classy at the same time. You can't really see it from this picture but the medallion stamp was inked up w/Cherry Cobbler ink and then went over by our shimmer paint for a glittery look.

Good Book i'm Reading

It's called "The Memory Keeper's Daughter" by Kim Edwards. It's such a good book. I used to read alot. The books that I normally read are Science Fiction by my favorite author Stephen King. My favorite book by him was "The Stand". Now, I must admit that I started that book a number of times because it's slow @ first but when I really started reading it...I couldn't put it down!! That's like this book. It's a story that takes place in the early 60's and a woman & her husband decide they want a child. She gives birth to two children and one (the girl) has Down's Syndrome. While the wife was out of it...he gave the girl to the nurse to take somewhere because he didn't want his wife to suffer. The nurse took the baby and decides to raise it herself!!

That's all I'm going to say about this book and i've said that much because that's the summary on the back of the book...lol. Anywho, you should read it because like I said...it's a good read. If you've read the book, let me know what you thought! I'm about half way through it right now and would like to be done w/it by end of the week.

I will send out another card blog later on tonight!!

One handed card

Happy Monday everyone! Feeling a little under the weather today but I did want to do another blog post. I have so many cards and projects that I want to share with everyone from this past weekend. The story behind this card is that we were challenged to grab 3 pieces of cardstock, one stamp set and one embellishment and make a card...pretty easy huh?? NOT!! We had to make a card only using one hand!!! The first one finished won a prize. I didn't win and I (almost) finished the entire card one handed. I chose poppy parade, basic black and whisper white as my cardstock, the stamp set I chose was "Aviary" and my embellishment I chose was ribbon. This was the final result. I did everything w/one hand except for the ribbon. Think it sounds easy?!?! I challenge you to try it...it's actually kind of fun!

National Card Making Day!

Hope everyone had as much fun on National Card Making Day as I did. I was invited by my friend/upline Julie to go to a cabin in the mountains w/10+ other stampers to enjoy this day together. We brought enough supplies to last us a week or more! Doesn't this always happen when you go away somewhere? You always pack too much. Thank you Julie for inviting me and a shout out and HUGE thank you to Beverlee for allowing this awesome weekend to happen!

The picture above is one of my favorite items that I made this weekend. It held most of my projects and it's super easy to make. I used dsp from Deck the Halls (LOVE that dsp!), Cherry Cobbler cardstock for the bottom of the bag and the large scallop square, Old Olive was used for the smaller of the scalloped squares and the Santa stamp comes from the stamp set "Jolly Old Saint Nick". I love this stamp set because it has the old fashioned Santa from back when I was a child....yes, it was a very long time ago!! lol. I also used Cherry Cobbler seam binding for the bag handles and old fashioned brads for decoration. All items used on this project is from Stampin' Up!!

If you want to learn to make this project or something else...sign up on http://www.meetup.com/Merced-Stampin-Scrapbooking-using-Stampin-Up/ to find upcoming classes near you! There is no cost to join this meetup.

I have a huge amount of projects to share with you from this weekend so I will definately be blogging more soon!

3 More UN convention Cards

Here are the last 3 cards that I made last weekend with all my scrappin sisters & friends. The stamp set I used is called "Because I Care". This stamp was stamped w/black staz on ink. I wanted to try some different colors on each card. My stampin sister Kim suggested that I cut out some flowers  and put them on the card to make them 3D. I did just that and I really love the way they turned out. I added the houndstooth embossing folder to the card front and added some glitter to the flowers. You can never have enough glitter they say and I must say that I do indeed love adding glitter. The 3 color ink that I used were Pale Plum, Blushing Bride & Daffodil Delight. I'm going to add either Happy Birthday or another sentiment to them at a later date.

Another UN-convention card

Happy Friday everyone. Here's another card that I made last Saturday w/my stampin sisters. I had alot of fun making this card and hopefully the little boy who will receive this card for his birthday will like it just as much (even though he already saw it when I messaged it to my bff Cheryl!). This stamp is our "extreme dirt bike".  I really enjoyed making this card. I used our ink spritzer to make it appear that the bike is kicking up lots of dirt...lol I used our houndstooth embossing folder on this card which made the stamp itself really pop out. I do hope you like it!! I'm going to post pictures of 3 more cards I made last weekend. They are the same stamp just different colors.

Unconvention Stamping Night!!

Hello everyone! I wanted to share with you that my stampin friends & I got together from noon until almost 10pm last night...and did we have fun!! We didn't attend the 2010 Stampin Up convention so we had an UNcovention get together. I was "supposed" to be there at noon but fun from Friday night made me late along with a wonderful flat tire! Thank goodness for bills because if I hadn't stopped to pay for one my tire could have blown out on the freeway which would have made my day horrible!! Anywho, I want to share with you a card I copied from the new catalog. It is soooooo adorable and I'm glad that my upline & good friend Julie was able to get the card recipe. I used the new "blushing bride" cardstock, with the new stamp set "Greeting card Kids". I used my favorite blender pen witht he colors blushing bride, cherry cobbler, old olive & chocolate chip to color in the card. I hope you like it as much as I had fun making it!

Birthday Card

Hi everyone...I know 2 posts in one week?!?! What's wrong w/me you might ask?? I have no idea so if you figure it out...let me know please...lol. I made a card similar to this awhile  back but changed it up a little bit by adding some really cute brads. I wanted to use up some retired dsp (that I'm still in love with btw). I do hope you enjoy it..if you do, let me know with a comment. Hope everyone is having a "cool" Sunday!!

Scrapbook Layout

Happy Saturday everyone. My post today is of a scrapbook page that I made last month for an online scrapbooking group project. I had alot of fun w/it. It features my adorable Princess Kaitlyn. My daughter Kelly took these pictures outside of my house and they turned out beautiful. Kelly is a very talented photographer who now resides in Seattle.

Stamp Club Project

Good afternoon everyone! In Merced, we're on our way to close to 100 degrees today. I'm very thankful today (and every other hot day!!) for air conditioning.  This past Saturday was Stamp Clubs Hostess Appreciation night. Thanks to Julie for having us do 2 fun and easy projects. The food won an honorable mention...Julie definately outdid herself (as usual) Here is one of the projects we did Saturday night. This is a really cute post it note holder. It's actually an acrylic picture frame w/Stampin Up's newest DSP "Greenhouse Gala". I love this paper. It's very colorful and rather trendy looking. I do hope you like what i've made.

New Catalog Out

Hi everyone!! I haven't posted in over a month and i really do want to start posting more projects that i've done. This card was inspired by a stampin connection post but I changed it up a bit. As you can tell, I love Pink!! I was also thinking about soft serve ice cream this past weekend (and was good and didn't have any!) Anywho...i love this set. It's called "Sweet Scoops" from our summer mini. After all, isn't one of the best things of summer ice cream?!?! Well, I think so (that and Taco Salad!). You can purchase this set until August 31st 2010.  I used Sweet Scoops w/pretty in pink and one of our new "In" colors "Crumb Cake". This ice cream looks good enough to eat I say. I also used "Birthday Wishes" sentiment from our New Catalog Hostess level 3 set "Occasional Quotes". I do like how this card came out and I hope that you do too!!

TGIF!!!!

Happy Friday everyone!! Not only is it Friday but it's also the first day of my vacation!!! I'm feeling relaxed already. I had an awesome day today. I checked out this really adorable store in Oakdale called "I Love Paris". That store is amazing!! I wanted to buy a bunch of everything...but I only got my granddaughter some pretties for her hair. (She doesn't really like things in her hair..lol). This is another card that I made last weekend using the chalkboard technique. I really like that technique...i'm going to use it more often. Hope you like the card as much as I enjoyed making it.

Happy Monday!!

Happy Monday everyone!! I made some cards over the weekend and I wanted to show one of them to you today. I've been wanting to try the chalkboard technique for a very long time and yesterday was the day!! After being shamed (j/k! I needed that boost!!!!) that I haven't kept my blog up, I decided to give it a whirl. I do love how the card turned out. I love the chalked colors and how great it looks against the  basic black cardstock. In this card I used Stampin Up's basic black, old olive & eggplant cardstock, The ink that was used was White craft ink by Stampin Up! of course. The chalk colors I used are eggplant, real red & Old Olive. The ribbon I used is Old Olive...ever since my Stampin Sister Barbara showed me how to make the perfect bow...i absolutely LOVE , LOVE, LOVE making bows. I did make a few other cards over the weekend and I will share them with you throughout the week.  I hope you like the card as much as I loved making it.
